Welcome to Wimborne Horticultural Society

We are a friendly society based in Wimborne and our meetings are held in the main hall of the Allendale Centre on the second Monday of each Month. PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM 8TH SEPTEMBER 2016 WE SHALL BE MOVING OUR VENUE TO THE COMMUNITY LEARNING AND RESOURCE CENTRE AT 41-44 KING STREET, WIMBORNE (BEHIND THE MINSTER) AND OUR MEETINGS WILL NOW BE ON THE 2ND THURSDAY OF THE MONTH AND AT THE NEW TIME OF 7.15PM.

  • January to March the meetings are in the afternoon and start at 2.00 p.m.
  • April to December they are in the evenings  and start at 7.15 pm.

Our Members enjoy a full programme of speakers throughout the year, not just on horticultural subjects, but on a range of interests.  We also arrange a coach trip, usually to a well known garden or to an RHS Garden and flower show.  We have a an excellent plant table and tea and coffee can be purchased at our evening meetings, a raffle and events table are also available.   At the current time we do not have any discounts available for members and sadly due to a fall in response we do not offer any discounts on seed catalogues.

Twice a year in Spring and Autumn we put on a flower show, where members and non- members can exhibit their skills in flowers, pot plants, vegetables, floral art, cookery, and photography (and handicrafts only in the Spring Show). We also have a section for children in the Autumn Show only, up to the age of ten. We will still hold the Autumn Show on 10th September at the Allendale Centre.
